Clevedon didn’t take long to respond, with Tyler Ashmead scoring two minutes into first-half stoppage time, and they then completed their comeback late in the game with Simpson volleying home the winner three minutes from time. On Wednesday evening, two goals from Ryan Batten weren’t enough asBittonfell to a 3-2 defeat away atHengrove Athletic. Batten struck for the visitors inside 90 seconds to give the visitors an early lead, before Hengrove hit back through Luke Crewe and Scott Lewis who both scored from corners. With the last kick of the first-half, Batten converted a Ben Wych to draw the scores level, and then midway through the second half Hengrove’s Lewis Dunn capped the scoring with a fine effort.

Premier Division: Buckland Athletic are no longer unbeaten in the league this season, after they fell to a 2-1 loss at home to Bradford Town. The away side were ahead in the 12th minute thanks a goal from Sam Jordan, before Buckland got back on level terms in first-half stoppage time when Jared Lewington headed home. With ten minutes remaining, Bradford scored the winner, with Will Haliston nodding the ball into the home side’s net. Mark Salter starred in the game at the Rapid Solicitors Ground, scoring four goals against his former side in a 5-0 win for Bridport over Bitton. After seeing his teammate Richard Hebditch open the scoring after just three minutes, Salter took over, doubling the lead before half-time and then adding a further three goals after the break in a one-sided contest.

First Division: Bishops Lydeard made it back-to-back league wins for the first time this season with a 3-1 triumph at home to Sherborne Town. The home side had James Quick to thank for two of their goals, with Charlie Wilson also grabbing a goal, while Daniel Quirke netted for Sherborne. Three goals in the space of 20 second-half minutes fired Chard Town to an impressive 3-1 win away at Keynsham Town. James Boyland opened the scoring six minutes after the break, with goals from Alex Stafie and Max Westlake following soon after before Craig Wilson grabbed a consolation for the hosts.

Welton Rovers left it late before securing a point at home to Corsham Town, with top scorer Jaiden Savery striking three minutes from time to cap a 2-2 draw. Welton went ahead just before the break through Francois Allen, before a second-half double from Josh Bright put Corsham in a winning position with ten minutes remaining. Then, in the 87th minute, substitute Chris Pile beat his man before squaring to Savery who beat his defender to slot home the equaliser. Cheddar, who recently parted company with manager Jared Greenhalgh, secured their fourth win of the season, beating Almondsbury 2-0.

FA Vase: Willand Rovers booked their spot in the First round of the FA Vase after they came from behind to defeat Saltash United 4-1. The visitors went ahead in the opening 20 minutes, but found themselves trailing at the break following a pair of headed goals from James Blake and Brad Ausden. Willand wrapped up the win late on, with Jordan Lovibond adding a third header, before Blake doubled his tally in injury-time. First Division leaders Westbury United staged an excellent comeback to beat Christchurch 5-2 after extra-time. They trailed 2-0 at the break following goals from Jon Blake and Max Wilcock, before managing to force extra-time thanks to goals in the second half from Dan Kovacs and Jake Hiscocks. Christchurch were then reduced to ten men, and Westbury took full advantage, with Steve Hulbert, Josh Ferguson and Kovacs firing home in the 30 minute extra-time period. Kye Simpson smashed in a hat-trick as Odd Down claimed a 3-1 win at home to Oldland Abbotonians. Simpson opened the scoring after just 40 seconds, and had his second of the afternoon just six minutes later as the home side made the perfect start. Lewis Parker then dispatched a spot kick to reduce the arrears, before Simpson wrapped up his treble in stoppage time. In a wild game at Poltair Park, a goal seven minutes into extra-time by Callum Ham saw Bridgwater Town claim a thrilling 5-4 win over AFC St Austell. Ham and Syd Camper each scored twice for Bridgy, with Matt Connick also notching in the victory. Goals from Matt Huxley, Lewis Shipp and Jack Cann led Cadbury Heath to a 3-1 win at home to Shepton Mallet, while a penalty from Ian Bellinger on the stroke of half-time helped Wellington to a 1-0 win over Clevedon Town. Radstock Town are through to the next round, with goals either side of half-time from Matt Minnis and Jack Witcombe leading them to a 2-0 victory over Roman Glass St George. Goals from Lewis Dunn, Luke Crewe and James Boyle proved to be enough for Hengrove Athletic who defeated Ashton & Backwell United 3-1, and they will be joined in the next round by Brislington who beat Crediton United 5-4 on penalties after their clash finished 0-0 after 120 minutes. Cribbs suffered late heartbreak, with Cullompton Rangers scoring an 88th minute winner in their 2-1 defeat, and at the Wincanton Sports Ground, Wincanton Town fell to a 3-0 defeat at home to Plymouth Parkway. There were disappointing 1-0 defeats for Bishop Sutton and Calne Town, who lost to Bovey Tracey and Downton respectively, while things were a little worse for Warminster Town who suffered a 4-0 loss at home to Farnham Town. Longwell Green Sports suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Ivybridge Town after extra-time, and Portishead Town were thumped 6-1 by Bodmin Town. Malmesbury Victoria’s clash with London Lions was abandoned following an injury to Vics striker Sam Parker. On Sunday, Chippenham Park fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to Camberley.
