Technical preliminary remarks for object preparation with Kaifinish
Corrosion protection/renovation of pipes and plants with subsequent insulation work inside the building.
The following service description is based on the following contractual conditions, standards and directives:
DIN 4140: "Insulation work on industrial installations and building equipment - Execution of thermal and cold insulations"
AGI Q 151 (corrosion protection under insulations)
DIN EN ISO 12944: "Paints and varnishes - Corrosion protection of steel structures by powder coating systems"

Corrosion protection with system corrosion protection with Kaifinish Primer, Base and Cover.
Kaifinish Primer:
First coat with primer.Mandatory for non-ferrous metals.
Colour: Ochre-yellow
Kaifinish Base:
Base coat on ferrous metals or Kaifinish Primer. Compensates for grooves and erosion.
Colour: Light grey (matte)
Layers:2-3 layers necessary
Consumption:Approx. 250 g/m2 (indicated per layer, observe multiple-layered structure)
Layer thickness:Wet:approx. 180 µm(indicated per layer, observe multiple-layered structure)
Dry:approx. 80 µm(indicated per layer, observe multiple-layered structure)
Drying time:between the brushing runs: 10 minutes
Total drying time:30 minutes
(at ambience and surface temperatures of 20°C and a rel. humidity of 65%)
Critical humidity (at least +3°C above dew point limit) and current Technical Bulletin must be observed.
Kaifinish Cover:
Topcoat is applied on Kaifinish Base. Completes the system structure.
Colour: Dark grey
Layers:2-3 layers necessary
Consumption:Approx. 240 g/m2 (indicated per layer, observe multiple-layered structure)
Layer thickness:Wet:approx. 160 µm(indicated per layer, observe multiple-layered structure)
Dry:approx. 80 µm(indicated per layer, observe multiple-layered structure)
Drying time:between the brushing runs: 10 minutes
Total drying time: 3 hours
(at ambience and surface temperatures of 20°C and a rel. humidity of 65%. Complete curing depends on layer thicknesses and environment; it must be reviewed from case to case)
Critical humidity (at least +3°C above dew point limit) and current Technical Bulletin must be observed.
