Final

72nd Ukrainian Woman Chess Championship

From September 24 till October 3 2012 Students Palace of National university “Law Academy of Ukraine named Yaroslav the Wise” (city Kharkiv, Pushkinskaya street, 88) hosts the Final of 72nd Ukrainian Woman Chess Championship. 10 strongest Ukrainian female chess players will take a part in it. Olympic champions Kateryna Lahno (Donetsk), Natalia Zhukova (Odessa), Anna Ushenina (Kharkiv), Inna Gaponenko (Herson); the bronze medal winner of the World Chess Olympiad Mariya Muzychuk (Stryi, Lviv region), two times bronze medal winner of European Club Cup Tatiana Kononenko (Kramatorsk, Donetsk region), Ukrainian Champion of 2011 Kateryna Dolzhykova (Kiev), winners of international and national tournaments Oksana Gritsayeva (Feodosia, Crimea region), Anastasiya Rakhmangulova (Nikolaev) and Irina Andrenko (Kharkiv). It will be the strongest national Championship in the history.

The opening ceremony of the event will be on September 24 at 15.00 in the concert hall of Students Palace. Press-conference will be at 14.00 on the floor 4 of the Students Palace. Rounds will be played daily from September 25 till October 2 from 15.00 till 20.00. The last round will be played at 11.00 on October 3. The closing ceremony and winners awarding will be on October3 at 18.00.

The winner of 12th Rector Cup (Kharkiv, 2010). 2nd place in the woman super-tournament in Krasnoturinsk and in “Moscow Open” (woman section) 2008.

European Rapid Woman Champion of 2002. World Junior Champion amongst girls (1994) and European Junior Champion amongst girls (1992). Ukrainian Woman Champion of 2008. Silver medal winner of European Woman Rapid Championship (2002). 2nd place on European Junior Championship U-18 (1995) and U-20 (1996) amongst girls. The winner of Ukrainian Club Championship as a member of “Danko” (2002). 2nd place in Ukrainian Junior Championships U-20 (1995, 1996, 1998) amongst girls. 2nd place in the international tournament “Bykova Memorial” (2003 and 2004). Winner of international tournaments in Benaske (Spain, 2005), “VIII Djord Marks Memorial” (Hungary, 2010). Two times winner of Woman Bundesleague (2006/2007 and 2010/2011).
