Of Mice and Men: Research Project/Presentation

Directions: In groups of 2-3, you will research one of the following topics and present your findings to the class:

A.The Great Depression

B.John Steinbeck

C.Migrant Farm Workers

D.Dust Bowl

You will create a presentation (informational poster board; Prezi; PowerPoint) detailing your topic (the who/what/when/where/why/how of it all). You will include:

1.Photographs of the subject (a minimumof 5)

2.Important dates, descriptions, details. You should become an expert on your subject, and will thusly be teaching it to the rest of your class.

3.A works cited page in MLA format (refer to Purdue OWL or Ms. Rogers) with a minimum of 4 reputable sources (not Wikipedia/online forums/etc.).

4.A minimum of 500 words. This will affect the number of slides you may use.

5.Each individual in your group must share equally in all tasks (research, presentation creation, presentation delivery, etc.).

6.Allow time for students to take notes (notes will be required for all students and will be collected).

7.Allow time for questions/comments (1 question/comment will be required from all students and will be recorded by Ms. Rogers).

8.Your presentation should last 3-5 minutes and will be timed.

Your contribution of each of the aforementioned requirements will affect your final grade.
