Men’s Basketball: Santa Ana’s Hundley Inks With University of California, Riverside
SANTA ANA, CA – Santa AnaCollegeguardTerrence Hundley (Alta Loma H.S., Rancho Cucamonga, CA) took advantage of the early signing period by inking his name on a national letter of intent to play basketball forthe University of California, Riverside (UCR) and head coach David Spencer next season. In 2004-2005, the 6-2, 180-poundsophomorehelped lead Santa Ana to a 12-14 overall record and a third-place finish in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) with an 8-6 mark. The Dons made their first post-season appearance in four years but lost in the first round of the Southern California Regional Men’s Basketball Playoffs, 68-60, to conference-foe Riverside Community College (RCC).
Hundley, who earned first team all-Orange Empire Conference honors,played in 25 of 26 games last season for Santa Anaincluding 19 starts. The former Alta Loma High School-product led the Dons in scoring with 285 points (11.1 avg.), assists with 55 (2.1 avg.) and steals with 43 (1.7 avg.) and was third on the team with 98 rebounds (3.8 avg.). Against conference competition, Hundley improved his scoring and rebound averages to14.0 and 4.0, respectively.
As a freshman, Hundley led the team in scoring nine times and reboundingfour times. He shot 44.3 percent (105 of 237) from the field,37.1 percent from three-point range (39 of 105) and 69.2 percent (35 of 52) from the free throw line.
Hundley prepped at AltaLomaHigh Schoolwhere he was a second team all-league selection as a junior and a first team all-league honoree as a senior.
