OVERHEAD LINES IMPORTANCE-DECISION MAKING BASIS FOR REVITALIZATION NESESSITY

METHODOLOGY FOR SELECTION OF OHL CANDIDATES FOR REVITALIZATION

The most important issue is adequate allocation of money to those OHLs:

  1. that are in the emergency for revitalization activities and
  2. that have the greatest impact on distribution system reliability.

RELIABILITY OF LINES WHICH ARE CANDIDATES FOR REVITALIZATION

Among more lines which have equally bad state, the first to be revitalized is the one with the greatest importance for consumers and power distribution company. It makes possible a justification of investments in reliability improvement of elements by means of OHL revitalization.

If the revitalised line have some kinds of distribution automation that can be considered by the separate reliability estimation computer programe, developed on the University of Novi Sad.

CONCLUSION

The advantages of the proposed methodology are:

  • All OHLs are analyzed in the same way. Their availability levels are numerically determined, enabling comparation of OHLs.
  • As the result of applying of the proposed revitalization methodology, one can get the modern OHL, capable for operation in the next 40 years. The OHLs so revitalized have increased reliability and nominal current. The capital expenditures are only 40-60% of those for new OHLs but the operating costs and costs of energy losses are significantly reduced.
