Hours: / Normal office hours, between 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week minimum / Annual Leave: / 30 days, exclusive of Bank Holidays
Reports to: / Head of QTLS and ATS
Staff Management: / QTLS Administrator
Role Purpose: / · To manage and oversee the day-to-day operations, accreditation process and customer support for Advanced Teacher Status (ATS); and the customer support for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Particular to this post:
1.1 For Advanced Teacher Status (ATS) only
· Recruit moderators and reviewers for ATS portfolio submissions
· Provide training and guidance for reviewers and moderators
· Manage the review and moderation process
· Prepare action plans for reviewers and moderators ahead of ATS reviews
· Collate reviewer and moderator feedback
· Manage review and moderation meetings
· Update the reviewer and moderator handbooks as necessary
· Revise the ATS standard statements in line with feedback from reviewers and moderators
· Plan and deliver ATS evaluation meetings
· Develop and manage viva interview process for ATS applicants
· Monitor submissions of ATS portfolios via e-portfolio platform when launched
· Resolve technical queries concerning use of ATS e-portfolio platform
· Manage release of ATS results and re-applications
· Oversee the ATS reapplication process, providing support to applicants who have not met the criteria by e-mail and/or one to one telephone discussions
· Provide a spreadsheet of all awarded applicants in preparation for the certificate mailout.
1.2 For both Advanced Teacher Status (ATS) and Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status
· Oversee customer engagement and support, working with the QTLS/ATS team
· Implement agreed developments and improvements of process and service
· Build customer engagement during programme, so applicants receive regular support and guidance, ultimately to increase submission rates and success
· Respond by phone or e-mail to customer enquiries escalated by Membership Enquiries contact centre team or Administrator
· Ensure Membership Enquiries Contact Centre Team have sufficient training to respond to customer enquiries regarding any changes to process
· Oversee management of Declaration of Suitability submissions
· Manage resolution of appeals and complaints from applicants with the Head of QTLS and ATS; the Director of Business Development, Membership and Communications; and the Registrar
1.3 Management
· Manage relevant sections of QTLS and ATS budgets
· Line manage administrator, monitor staff performance and development, set objectives and conduct mid-year reviews and annual appraisals
· Support professional development
· Engage with the wider SET team as necessary and across the Education and Training Foundation (ETF).
2. In common with all staff:
· Actively work to ensure all activities incorporate a focus on promotion of equality and valuing diversity, including collecting and analysis of appropriate monitoring data.
· To support the delivery of the ETF’s mission, values and Critical Success Factors (CSFs).
· To work creatively with a range of different stakeholders to promote and enhance the work of the Foundation.

· Such other duties commensurate with role which may be required from time to time.
4. General
· To work co-operatively with Foundation personnel, including providing cover during absence as may be requested by the Line Manager or other delegated personnel.
· Fulfil the requirements of the Foundation’s equal opportunities policy and procedures and implement good principles and practices within the context of the job, daily.
· To undertake any other duties as appropriate that are commensurate with the post as may be determined from time to time by the Line Manager, or above.

Experience of reviewing QTLS applications, and preferably experience moderating QTLS applications / √
Experience using CRM systems or customer databases / √
Experience using e-portfolio and/or VLE platforms to gather online portfolios for qualification / √
Experience in supporting practitioners and/or learners in completing assessment e-portfolios and using these for reporting and tracking purposes / √
Managing and reporting customer/teacher/user data, using above systems / √
Providing technical and educational support to customers or users of e-portfolio and/or VLE platforms / √
Experience managing and dealing with individual customer enquiries via e-mail or phone / √
Skills and Knowledge
Good knowledge of the Further Education and Skills sector / √
Good knowledge of the principles of assessment in further education contexts / √
Good understanding of the advanced practitioner role and the impact of the role on organisational quality improvement / √
Good understanding of current developments and effective practice in initial teacher education and teaching, learning and assessment in FE and skills, gained from working in practical teaching contexts. / √
