~A Timeless Tradition of Academic Excellence~

St. JosephHillAcademy is operated by the Congregation of the Daughters

of Divine Charity. It is located on a fourteen acre, park-like campus in Staten

Island, New York. The enrollment generally consists of approximately

440 young women.

Students may select SJHA (223) as their 1st or 2nd choice, however to be considered for a scholarship SJHA must be the 1st choice.

~Mission Statement~

Schools of the Daughters of Divine Charity commit themselves:

  • To lay the foundation of a personal and active faith rooted in the love

of the Triune God.

  • To be deeply concerned with each student’s total development:

spiritually, intellectually, emotionally and physically.

  • To excellence in the development of Christian values that are enhanced by a love of truth and a love of learning, preparing our students to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
  • To meet the daily challenge of preparing students for future leadership and stewardship roles in our interdependent world.
  • To recognize its potential to participate in a radical reshaping of society by building communities which create an atmosphere enlivened by the gospel spirit of love and freedom.
  • To present itself to the wider community as a Christ-centered institute within the evolving tradition of the Church.

All graduates from St. JosephHillAcademy continue their education.

Our students are placed in classes that are taught on the College Preparatory level. While we adhere to the New York State Regents curriculum as the basis for high level instruction, all of our classes challenge the student to achieve her greatest potential. We require all students to take the eight Regents Examinations necessary to earn an Advance Regents Diploma (Living Environment, Physical Setting (Chemistry/Physics), Math A, Math B, English, Global History, American History, Foreign Language).

St. Joseph Hill Academy has not and shall not discriminate on the basis of religion, race,

color, or national and ethnic origins in administration of educational policies, admission

policies, scholarship programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.
