Welcome to the part of the male family Tree that I appear in. I started this off in 1990, and was not aware of just how far and wide the male family has spread. Here in 2009 some 20 years later, my life has changed and genealogy now only takes a secondary position in my hobbies. It has been fun, disappointing, exhilarating and time consuming, but I must of enjoyed doing it. Otherwise I would not have done it. Enjoy.

There are now more than50 word Files to make up this MALE FAMILY TREE. File 003 Ft1 to File 009 Ft 7 is the TREE that I am hanging by my tail in. You’ll find me in File 006 Ft4. The other files, include the mainBarrington Male TREE File 001 Ft Johannes. David Male has taken the time and the effort to publish on the web all of my Research. There are many people that have helped with this project, that we are indebted to. Far too many to mention specifically.. It has always been on the basis of swapping information gratis. I’d like to mention a few in passing..
Firstly, many thanks to Barbara Male of Baxter, Victoria. Barbara did the ground work and made the skeleton of this Tree. Barbara must of spent a small fortune, not to mention a great deal of time, in this initial research.
Secondly, to June Male of Pialba, Queensland. It was June who got me started. I was to update the Tree that Barbara had, from my Great grandfather, Luke Male, down to the present. Somewhere along that line, I must of got bitten by that darned scourge of the populace, the GENEALOGY BUG.
Thirdly, to the late Jessie Cameron of St. Arnaud, Victoria. Jessie has been a tower of strength and information. As both my paternal grandparents were born and raised in the St. Arnaud district, Jessie was of great help with information on both families. Jessie’s late 2nd husband, Ken Cameron, was my 3rd cousin. Jessie was the Research Officer at the St. Arnaud’s Historical Society, and without Jessie’s unselfish help, this Tree could not have progressed as far as it has..
Fourthly, to the late Betty McGill ( nee MALE ) of Brisbane. Betty had done the skeleton work of the Tree from John Male and Elizabeth Barrett downwards, and no doubt, would have done a lot more except for her untimely death in 1985. .
Lastly, I would like to mention 3 people in Somerset, England. The late Dennis Drayton, of Ilminster, although not directly related to the present Male clan, who has contributed time, energy, and leg work, Stella Wilson of Barrington, who has handed to me her research work on the Male family – a work she collected over the years, and John Priddle of Horsham. While John and I are not related, his 3rd cousin Joan Male of SalisburyEngland is my 7 th cousin or something like that. John had been a big help also. December 2009. I find John and I are 8th cousins once removed.
Now the number in front of the name is the generation.
The number ( or numbers ) after, in brackets, is the birth date or baptism date or death date or both. As this File was the first started, by me, the generation numbers are out of place when compared to where they would fit into the Main Tree File 001 Ft Johannes,. This main file was started many years after this one was under way and it was just too much work to alter the generation numbering
These Trees are a continuing project. I suspect they may never be finished. There is still a lot of branches on the Tree that need to be filled in. Before you start, on the Barrington MALE TREE, I’d like to thank David Male for the time and effort he has put into this pet project of his of getting our tree up on the net. . This section of the Male Family Tree is split up into 7 sections for easy access to me when entering information, plus 6 files of notes. These Files are File 003 Ft1. File004 Ft 2, File 005 Ft 3, & File 030 Ft Notes for 003, 004, & 005. File006 Ft 4, and File 031 Ft Notes for 006. File 007 Ft 5, File 008 Ft 6, and File 009 Ft 7,. This is only a branch off the main tree which starts with File 001 Ft Johannes.
As mentioned File 001 Ft Johannes is the main File. All others branch off directly of indirectly from this main File Then there are Files that I haven’t as yet numbered. Sue Boughton has now put this file back about 4 generations back to Somerset. );Ft Staffordshire 1 and 2. The 1995 IGI Index suggests that Ann was Mrs Ann Male prior to marriage to William.
2. – William Henry MALE – (c. 29.4.1698 B. –bur. 1.5.1698) 1995 IGI Index has William as Lorenzo Male.
The BDM has this child as Henry. No other name.
