Hotel partners with local USO in golf event open to the public
WHAT: In honor of the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center, The Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa is partnering with the Palm Springs USO for a Military-Am.
WHEN: September 10, 2011
· 7:00 a.m. Check-in, raffle tickets, warm up and a continental breakfast
· 8:00 a.m. Opening ceremony and start of game.
· 1:00 p.m. Awards banquet

(Rancho Mirage, CA July 15th, 2011) In honor of the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center, The Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa is partnering with the Palm Springs USO for a Military-Am. On September 10th, 2011, 36 active Marines from 29 Palms Base will gather at the resort for a day of golf, ceremonies and remembrance.

Each five-some will include a member of the military and the day will begin with breakfast at 7 am followed by an 8 am shotgun. Local fire and police will also be present with local vendors providing a surprise theme at every hole. Live entertainment will be enjoyed by all, while a bagpipe ceremony will take place on the 18th hole.
A day of golf will be followed by an awards ceremony, luncheon and silent auction. The families of each Marine will be welcomed to enjoy the resort luxurious amenities, including three pools, a 36 ft waterslide and pre-planned kids activities.
