Dear collegues,

those of you coming in by plane or train need transport to the conference venue. If you are flying in to Luxemburg or Frankfurt, take a train (from Luxemburg a bus) to Saarbruecken and then try to catch the chartered bus from the main train station (see below). If you arrive on the day of the conference and you are flying in at Hahn airport, try to get a shuttle (see below). If you need to arrive a day early, you can find yourself a hotel or hostel bed in the city (see below) and then take the chartered bus. There is the option of spending an extra night at the conference venue (see below), but I am not sure if this is convenient because it is in the country-side with not many options to go out and explore.

Chartered bus from Saarbruecken main train station:

We want to organize a bus from Saarbrücken to the conference leaving at 11:00 from Saarbrücken main train station on Sunday, August 29th. On the last day, we plan to arrange a bus going back to Saarbruecken main train station leaving at the conference venue at 14:00. The bus trip to the conference venue is about 45 to 60 minutes. Please understand that we have to ask for a fee to contribute to this cost (approximately 15 euros per person for the round-trip).

PLEASE send me an email if you want to take this bus – one-way or round-trip! (If possible, please collect the names of people within your workgroup first and send me the complete list!)

Airport Shuttle Services:

a) Scherer Shuttle to/from Airport Hahn

Has a fixed route from the airport to Saarbruecken. 16 € per trip/per person.

c) Charted bus from Airport Hahn

I have inquired about a charted from and to Airport Hahn. The cost would be around 450Euros for a bus with 17 seats (roundtrip). It might be an option for the workgroups from the UK.
