A Note on Course Content

It is next to impossible (certainly it is impractical) to list and cover the myriad subject matter falling under this course title. Most every activity that human beings engage in while living their everyday/everynight lives is a possible focal point in our sociological studies. I shall (we shall) expand upon this when we meet as a class for the first time.

Evaluation (Grading)

Student final marks will be based in large part on an evaluation of projects (presented both verbally and in written form) as well as evaluations of weekly seminar contributions. (Please Note: This is an advanced seminar course. If you desire a lecture format and consequently, do not wish to participate actively in class sessions, then please do us both a favour and find another course in which to enrol. Thanks.) Exact marking percentages as portions of the final mark, more on evaluation procedures, and any other relevant information we shall discuss as a group on the first day of class, Tuesday, September 12, 2006.

On Plagiarism

Plagiarism and other forms of academic dishonesty will be dealt with according to the University regulations (see Lakehead University Calendar).
