Hints
· If you need to exit before the time is up, us F4 if you have an older keyboard. With a newer keyboard us “fn” F4. It will ask for a password which is jres
· The headphones do not always stay set to USB (of course they do for me, but apparently not in real life so you might just want to get in the habit of setting them every time. If you are using a new computer, if the headphone is plugged in before the student logs in, then it will automatically set to the headphones. If you are on an older computer, there are no guarantees.
· If you need to set the headphone after the program is running (it looses sound) you can do it with <option>F10 on the new computers, or F11 on the older computers.
· If there is a big Green Dot in the top banner toward the right, you can pull down on that to start or quit Imagine Learning.
· Directions for setting the Headphones in the Sound preferences are on the last page of this document.
To run Imagine Learning
If the following Icon is in your dock, and there should be for K-4, double click on it. Sometimes it doesn’t actually open, then just double click it again, or pull down from the dot in the top bar. If there is no Imagine Learning on the dock, then use the instructions below:
If the Imagine Client is not an icon in the dock. Click on the Finder icon.
Click on Applications on the left and then find Imagine Client and double click on it.
You may get a set up screen first. You will need to find your room from list (i.e. rm18-20 for mini lab between Hilton/Demers room), then enter the computer number in the bottom box for computer name. Click Finished.
In the top menu bar there is a green ball on the right side. Click on it and pull down to Start Student Menu.
Once Imagine Learning is Running
Find your teacher’s name and select it.
Find your name from the student list and select it.
You are set to go.
· Setting Headphones for Imagine Learning
Plug the headphones into the USB slot on the side or back of the computer, this is the same type of opening that your keyboard is plugged into. Once they are plugged in, go to System Preferences:
Once System Preferences opens up, select Sound:
Now Select Output and select the USB line:
Now do the same for Input:
Now close System Preferences with the red button and your should be ready to run Imagine Learning by clicking on the chipmunk icon.
