From the third grade classroom of Ms. Ivey
Here’s what we are learning:
English Language Arts: We are continuing to discover the meaning of character traits, setting, plot and mood. We will be reading and writing about “Charlotte’s Web” and “Loved the Best”.
Math: We are learning to add and subtract numbers fluently. Our focus this week subtracting 3-digit numbers with regrouping.
Unit of Inquiry (Science and Social Studies): Transdisciplinary Theme: Where We Are in Place and Time. Central Idea: Earth is a unique place to live. We are exploring Louisiana geography and what makes us unique.

· Report cards will be sent home on Tuesday, September 30th.
· Reading Test has been moved to Thursday, October 2nd. Students need more practice with writing short answer responses.
· Last week, students took an online Silent Reading Inventory to determine their reading level. Scores will be released this week.
· There will be no school on Friday, October 3rd, so that families can visit the Tangipahoa Parish Fair in Amite.
