RACE 1 (R680) CLASS 5 – 1000m(sc) –LANGKAWI WATER FESTIVAL HANDICAP
FLAPJACK, a non-acceptor which had cellulites off fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examinationbefore being declared to race again.
DECISIVE, a non-acceptor which was sore both heels, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
DRAGON STAR, a non-acceptor which had cellulites off fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
HOLLYWOOD BOY, a course scratching which was suffering respiratory infection, will be required to pass a veterinary examinationbefore being declared to race again.
Due to a heavy downpour prior to the running of this race, the Racing Stewards downgraded the going from ‘soft’ to ‘heavy’ at 3.05pm.
RACING MAN (M Yusri) jumped awkwardly.
Near the 700M, DUSKY MAIDEN (I Azhar) steadied when crowded for room between SPEED TRAIN (Y Aify) which rolled outwards and TUXEDO URCHIN (K Eirwan) which was taken inwards by OIL TOWN CAPTAIN (M Wepner) which rolled inwards.
Near the 100M, Jockey Lou Ho, the rider of PRINCE OF PAUPERS had his whip accidentally knocked out of his hand by App KK Chin, the rider of SCOTT FREE.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of HAPPY SURPRISER (SC Liew), Trainer KK Loh stated that HAPPY SURPRISER has had a history of missing the start in its races and he applied to remove the use of blinkers at a recent barrier trial whereby HAPPY SURPRISER performed well. Trainer KK Loh further stated thathe believed the gear change as well as the heavy track today and coming back to 1000M, had contributed to the improved performance of HAPPY SURPRISER. His explanation was noted. Trainer KK Loh was reminded of his obligations regarding in-and-out running.
Post-race veterinary examinations of PRINCE OF PAUPERS, RACING MAN, DUSKY MAIDEN and CASH MAN (App I Amirul) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SCOTT FREE returned having cast its near fore plate.
All riders returned 1kg over due to the adverse weather condition.

RACE 2 (R681) CLASS 5 – 1000m(sc) –WORLD HARVEST FESTIVAL HANDICAP
PIUS TOUCH, a non-acceptor which had corneal ulcer of its right eye, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
CABRERA, a non-acceptor which had sustained bruised both hind, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
DUE HOME, a non-acceptor which had sustained stone bruised near fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
MAKEMEAMILLION,a non-acceptor which had sustained a bruised near fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
App Z Khairil was fined RM500/- under MRA Rule 107(10) for failing to make the carded weight on FREEDOM BELL. Stewards permitted App I Amirul to replace him.
Permission was given for the blinker/pacifierto be removed from DIAMONDINDRUFF (App KK Khoo) due to the adverse weather condition.
FREEDOM BELL which reared up, dislodging App I Amirul, was withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 3.55pm. FREEDOM BELL will be required to pass a test (1 starting stall) to be ridden unaidedto the start before being declared to race again.
EL COMANDANTE (App KC Wong) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped BALE (App SU Lim)
D’CREATOR (M Djulkifli) jumped awkwardly and thereafter showed no early pace, despite being urged along.
On jumping, BERNI DANCER (Y Aify) and TRIPLE COIN (S Salee) bumped.
Shortly after the start, BERNI DANCER and SUN SUPREME (Lou Ho) checked. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.
Near the 950M, TIME TO SHINE steadied off the heels of TRIPLE COIN which shifted inwards. Jockey S Salee was shown the film and warned to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
Near the 200M, DIAMONDINDRUFF steadied off the heels of BALE (App SU Lim) which rolled inwards.
D’CREATOR which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of BERNI DANCER, D’CREATOR and SUN SUPREME revealed no obvious abnormality.

WELL NATURE, a non-acceptor which had sustained sole bruised near fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
IMPROBABLE, a course scratching which was suffering respiratory allergy, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
On jumping, HE CAN DANCE (M Yusri) and SMART ASSASSIN (I Fadzlei) were crowded for room between HANDSOME BACHELOR (App KC Tham) which jumped awkwardly outwards and COCONUT (M Wepner) which jumped awkwardly inwards.
When questioned regarding MARYLEBONEPARK missing the start, Jockey S Sani stated that after being placed in the barrier, his mount became fractious and when the gates opened, reared up and lost considerable ground. MARYLEBONEPARK which was fractious, reared up and lost considerable ground, will be required to pass a test (1 starting stall) before being declared to race again.
COCONUT showed no early pace, despite being urged along.
Post-race veterinary examinations of HANDSOME BACHELOR, MARYLEBONEPARK and ANAK YATIM (M Razali) revealed no obvious abnormality.
MARYLEBONEPARK which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

ROYAL GREEN (App KK Chin) was slowly away.
SI BRAVO (Lou Ho) jumped awkwardly and was slowly away.
ROYAL GREEN and BERCHAM (I Azhar) drifted outwards under pressure over the concluding stages of the race.
Post-race veterinary examinations of EL JEYA (App J See), ALI BABA (App KC Wong), SI BRAVO and CANDY CRUSH (TM Wan) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 5 (R684) ENRICH STAKES A – 1400m(sc) –SABAH FEST STAKES [SET-WEIGHTS]
BLUE TOSCA, a non-acceptor which had sustained sole bruised near fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
TANHA STRIKE, a course scratching which had sustained a bruised near fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
LUXURIOUS CHOICE which was down 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
A post-race veterinary examination of MONEY IS KING (SC Liew) revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 6 (R685) CLASS 5 – 1400m(sc) –KENYIR FEST 2014 HANDICAP
DARMORE, a non-acceptor which had sustained a bruised near fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
EMPRESS GIOK which was down 23kgs and SURPRISE STRIKE which was up 19kgs in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.
The Stewards ordered the withdrawal ofJACK at 5.45pm, acting on veterinary advice that the gelding was found to be lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
THE TIGER (M Razali) jumped awkwardly and thereafter, raced keenly and was difficult to settle in the early stages.
On jumping, RUNFORIT (App Z Khairil), EMPRESS GIOK (App J See) and EPIC ENCOUNTER (S Salee) were all crowded for room between HIGHPEAK (S Sani) which jumped awkwardly inwards and SURPRISE STRIKE (M Djulkifli) which rolled outwards. RUNFORIT and EPIC ENCOUNTER lost ground in this incident. Stewards deemed this a racing incident and no action was taken.
Near the 1100M, SURPRISE STRIKE steadied when crowded for room between FEARED (Lou Ho) which rolled outwards and RUNFORIT which rolled inwards.
Near the 900M, THE TIGER which continued to race keenly, steadied off the heels of FEARED.
Near the 250M, Jockey J Shankar, the rider of DON’TCALLMEUNCLE had his whip accidentally knocked out of his hand by App J See, the rider of EMPRESS GIOK.
Near the 250M, FEARED steadied outwards across the heels of GOOD GIFT (K Eirwan), which laid inwards under pressure.
Near the 200M, HIGHPEAK laid inwards, obliging its rider to stop and straighten.
Post-race veterinary examinations of SURPRISE STRIKE, EPIC ENCOUNTER and FEARED revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that HIGHPEAK returned having cast its off hind plate and THE TIGER cast its near fore plate.

A subsequentveterinary examination (on Sunday, 18th May 2014) of HERE COMES THUNDER (App KK Chin) revealed that the gelding had returned having cast its off fore plate.

Jockey M Djulkifli, the rider of GOOD RECOMMEND was fined RM500/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he had weighed out with an unapproved safety vest.
