The impact of fire in caregiver facilities

Why caregivers should teach fire safety related topics

MODULE 2:

The components of the fire Tetrahedron

The five classes of fires

The forms of heat sources and heat transfer

The products of combustion

The basic development and spread of fire in buildings

MODULE 3:

The codes and standards that establish the minimum level of fire protection for their respective facilities

The following fire protection systems and devices:

  • Smoke alarms (not part of a fire alarm system)
  • Smoke detectors (components of a fire alarm system)
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Automatic Sprinkler systems
  • Kitchen cooking exhaust hood fire suppression systems
  • Portable fire extinguishers
  • Means of egress system
  • Passive fire and smoke containment features

How to perform a self-inspection of your facility

MODULE 4:

The importance of developing and implementing a facility evacuation plan

How to implement a facility emergency evacuation plan with staff

How to conduct & evaluate facility emergency evacuation drills

How to develop and implement an emergency evacuation plan in the residence
