Special Session: Services, and Applications for Cloud Computing and Big Data

Objective :

As Cloud computing has been adopted widely, high performance cloud services and applications are in demand. Various parallelization and acceleration mechanisms have been applied for impressive cloud services. However, in the meantime, the security issue has turned into the major concern, which prevents Clouds, especially public Clouds, from being widely accepted and adopted. While high security levels help secure Clouds, they drag down application performance as well. The ideal Cloud services should be implemented with thorough consideration of these two contradictory design factors. Cloud computing opens doors to a new area where IT services are served as utility. Cloud propounds an IT infrastructure delocalized and available via Internet where processing and storage services are performed at Data Center level. Despite the success of cloud concept, it shows certain flows which are materialized as a hunger for energy consumption of the network, computing, and storage resources. Numerous reports that scrutinize Cloud energy consumption result that the Cloud is an energy monster.

The special session focused on the integration of cloud computing with different applications and services, which enables the development of systems that provide resources and services on an on-demand basis, process big data collected from different sources, and support Internet of things (IoT) with massive cloud-based backend. Such systems may employ computational intelligence methods, utilize artificial intelligence approaches as well as decision making techniques for enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of computing infrastructures, increasing security and data privacy while making infrastructure configuration, deployment and maintenance easier.

The objective of this special session is to produce suitable high quality research work on modern developments in cloud computing and Big Data. It will act as medium for industry scientists spread across globe to showcase their research and recent advancement of the field. The engineers, academicians, scientists, industrial professionals and researchers are invited to submit unpublished and original work, but not limited to the following topics:
