Competition Details

‘Bring Back the Bush’

For this year’s competition we would like you to create artworks portraying the importance of conserving and creating new natural bushland in Western Sydney to help sustain our native ecosystems. Due to land clearing for urban development and industry, substabtial native animal habitats have been destroyed and over 50 mammal and bird species and 50 plant species have become extinct in Australia since the arrival of Captain Cook.

We want students to think about how they can encourage the return of many native animal, bird, insect and plant species to the Greater Western Sydney Region by providing more bushland habitat which they can call their home.
