The Scoop on CSI Insurance

In order to more closely manage our group insurance programs and keep your premium costs from rising, CSI has made the decision to move our Medical, Dental and Vision insurance to Regence Blue Shield of Idaho effective July 1.Employees currently enrolled will be automatically moved to the new plans and you will be receiving a Regence Blue Shield identification card during the month of June.If you currently do not have insurance but would like to enroll yourself or dependents you must complete new paperwork prior to June 1.

The new medical plan is a PPO plan with a $250 deductible and a $20 office copay for PPO providers.Approximately 98% of all providers in the Magic Valley area are participating in the Regence Blue Shield network. The prescription drug card will have the same copay as your current plan and you will notice many enhancements such as a $400 first dollar benefit for lab and x-ray.Your out of pocket exposure will be lower and the new policy will increase from $1 million to a $2 million lifetime benefit.

The dental plan is very similar to your current plan but is not a PPO.It will continue to include an orthodontia benefit. The vision plan pays for an annual checkup and then allows $150 toward glasses, contacts, and hardware. An Employee Assistance Plan will be included with four visits per occurrence.

Our Group Life/AD&D/Dependent Life/STD/LTD will be moved from Principal to Regence Life.We will continue to offer life insurance of 1 times annual earnings with a $20,000 minimum and a $250,000 maximum. If you currently purchase the Voluntary Life of one times annual earnings, it will be grandfathered in for you and transferred to the new carrier. In addition, you will have the opportunity to purchase even higher levels of life insurance for you, your spouse, and your children.Your Long Term Disability benefit will continue to be 60% of annual earnings with the monthly maximum increasing from $4000 to $6000 per month.

We will continue to offer a Cafeteria Plan for pre tax child care and unreimbursed medical expenses and it will now be with Manley Administrative Services.

By moving to our own stand alone benefits program, we will be able to offer these benefits that have many enhancements, and we will not be increasing your current employee contributions.

We will be scheduling employee meetings with representatives from the insurance carriers and you will be provided informational materials and outlines of benefits. Additionally, information will be made available to you on the CSI website.

As we have worked through this process our main focus has been on looking out for your best interest. We certainly realize that it is you, our CSI Employees, who make this such a wonderful place to work.

If you have questions or concerns please let me know.
