Athene Communications is a successful and growing full service communication agency operating across four main areas of activity: PR and marketing; internal communication and change; education and community engagement.

Current clients include the University of Cambridge, Howard Group, Peterborough City Council, Hallam Land, Hopkins Homes, Larkfleet Homes, Scottish Power Renewables, Royal HaskoningDHV and over 15 Cambridgeshire based schools.

Our community engagement offer supports real estate development and is expanding. We are now looking to recruit an ambitious graduate to work in our Cambridge offices and support our clients in Cambridge and East Anglia. Our current projects include commercial, residential and mixed-use developments and a major off-shore wind project.

Vacancy description

To support the delivery of Athene’s community engagement work: delivering engagement projects and programmes (mostly in real estate development) and helping to promote our services across the region.

·  The account executive for community engagement will support the delivery of these projects by researching the background to specific developments and create community and stakeholder audits

·  Organising and attending public exhibitions

·  Writing and managing the production of exhibition materials, including press releases, web-copy and exhibition boards

·  Researching and writing reports for clients on public policy related to development projects, planning and infrastructure and to developments in local government

·  Liaising with clients on all aspects of community engagement projects, including taking minutes and preparing agendas for client meetings

·  Setting up and taking notes of meetings with key stakeholders including MPs, Councillors and parish councillors

·  Managing responses to consultations

·  Managing and keeping up to date stakeholder databases

·  Organising Athene’s own seminars and conferences to help raise our profile in the region

·  Attending relevant conferences and Council meetings as required to help build an understanding of current issues

Person Specification:

Any degree discipline

The ideal candidate will:

·  Have excellent written and oral communication skills

·  Be able to work as part of multi-disciplinary client teams including architects, planners and landscape designers

·  Be capable of developing first drafts of comprehensive community engagement strategies for projects and presenting them to clients

·  Be an efficient organiser, recognising that no detail is too small when planning a series of consultation events

·  Have proficient MS Office skills

·  Be capable of meeting tight deadlines

·  Be an effective ambassador for the company

·  Have strategic thinking skills and be able to research and understand the wider policy environment that will impact engagement and consultation

·  Be interested in the wider public policy agenda and national and local politics

·  Be interested in the wider world of PR and marketing
