General Description:
The Accountant is responsible for the management and timely processing of purchase orders, accounts payable, accounts receivable, check processing, payroll, 401(k), and benefit withholdings. This position is responsible for the complete and timely processing of all monthly closing activities. This position also entails research in response to field inquiries, analyzing financial information, and performing other general accounting and analytical duties as requested by the Plant Controller.
Essential Functions:
§  Must have the ability & willingness to perform at the expected level of attendance at MW/MB; to work every day, on time, as scheduled.
§  Promote and maintain MW/MB safety goals and ensure a safe work environment for all employees. Leads safety and housekeeping efforts and corrective actions within assigned projects and areas. Exemplifies safety in all actions and leads by example.
§  Manage all accounts payable and check writing processes for the entire organization. This includes careful analysis of account allocations and fiscal periods, particularly during monthly closes.
§  Manage payroll, 401(k) administration, benefit withholdings, and vacation tracking for 100+ employees. This includes management of the time-clock system for hourly employees.
§  Create and process journal entries for certain transactions. This includes creating and processing cost accounting entries for reported daily production.
§  Manage accounts receivable, including processing of system generated invoicing and the preparation of semi-monthly customer statements.
§  Assist Plant Controller on projects as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, fielding inquiries, analyzing financial information, and preparation for external financial statement audits.
§  Manage organization of all accounting and finance related physical files, including purchasing, accounts payable, and payroll.
§  Manage all shared electronic files for accounting and finance areas.
§  Manages business related travel arrangements for employees and ensures adherence to travel policies.
§  Processes employee expense reports.
§  Administer employee safety glasses and safety shoe reimbursement benefits.
§  Manage the corporate credit card accounts of the Plant General Manager and Plant Controller.
§  Manage the corporate accounts for office supplies and reprographics.
§  Manage Fed-Ex shipments and account for front office personnel.
§  Greet plant visitors in Administrative Assistant’s absence to be sure visitor procedures are followed.
Beneficial Experience and Skills:
§  Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, plus a strong working knowledge of personal computers and the Microsoft Office Suite.
§  Must be able to handle multiple tasks and possess strong analytical skills to be applied toward assessing complex data information.
§  Must have experience working with accounting software packages, preferably related to manufacturing.
§  Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, EPICIOR vista or EPICOR vantage is a plus.
§  Must have strong working knowledge of on-line 3rd party payroll processing systems. Experience with CompuPay a plus.
§  Must have an understanding of time-card systems.
Training Requirements:
§  All training necessary to stay current in the areas of accounting, payroll, and other related topics.

§  Occasionally lifts, carries or otherwise moves objects up to 20 lbs or less when stocking office supplies or preparing for company activities.
§  Regularly bends, stoops, stretches and reaches to investigate safety related issues, stock office supplies etc.
§  Regularly operates computer and other office equipment.
§  Occasionally attends meetings away from the office.
PPE Requirements:
§  No PPE required unless working out of office area.
§  In plant area steel-toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields and earplugs are required.
Education Requirements
B.S. in Accounting or related field, plus a minimum of two years direct general accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
