Sight Word Practice Activities

Choose one activity (or more if needed) to study your words for the week - Enjoy!

Rainbow Writing
Use 3 different colored crayons or dry-erase markers to write and say your sight words. / Eat Your Words
Spell words with Cheez-its or cereal read it and eat them as a snack. / Chalk It Up
Neatly write words with chalk on your driveway or a chalkboard.
Exercise
Do Jumping Jacks, Bounce a ball, or jump rope to spell and say the words. Use only one bounce or jump for each letter. / Spelling City

Trace your words in a tray of shaving cream, salt, sand, or flour. You can even trace them on your parent’s back or in the air!
Memory Match
Make 2 sets of flashcards and play Memory while matching your words. You must read the word to complete the match. / Flash It
Make flash cards for your words. You can write them on index cards or small paper. Have someone flash a card and you read it as quick as you can. See if you can get faster! / Wanted Words
Cut out letters from magazines, flyers or a newspaper. Spell your words by gluing the letters in order.
Paint It
Paint your words with a Q-Tip or write your words with a white crayon on white paper and paint over your words to reveal them. / Window Writing
