Senn Blacktop did raise the quote by 5% so the quote is now at $3195 for 2018. They did say this is just an estimate for us and once it gets closer to April they can schedule us and get a better quote (which they said might be less, will not be more) when they come out.
We received lots of Christmas Donations monetary and donation. Halmstead Elementary and Southview Elementary gathered many donations and Holly went to the schools to pick them up and talked with the students.
Holly will be transporting 21 cats to the Animal Humane Society’s locations in St. Paul and Golden Valley for adoption.
We need to raise the adopter age to 21. We are having 18 year olds come in adopt and not understand what they are doing and end up re-homing the animal. A discussion was held about how to go about this - Holly stated that EC already has their adoption age set at 21. Quincy made a suggestion to add references - Holly will be doing some additional checking into this and will let the board know more next month.
For the year of 2017, we had 589 adoptions (236 dogs, 349 cats, 2 Guiney Pigs and 2 Rabbits)!
Standing Committees Updates:
A. Purr and Paw: April 7, Eagle’s Club. Sin City - Karen was looking into decorations for about 25 tables. Will need to decide at the February Meeting what the Menu will be. We will keep the ticket price the same. Christy will find out if we can bring in our own bartender. We need to start working on the posters and getting sponsor letters out. Holly will put the date of the event out on Facebook.

C. Newsletter: Pam would like to start collecting any updates during our monthly meetings that we would like to have put into the newsletter.
New Business:
A. Committee Updated Responsibilities: Deb and Pam were discussing that no one should have total responsibility of an event. It was suggested that someone be the lead person for an event and the lead will be in charge of the event and reporting back to the board of the status.
B. Dog Walk: This will be discussed at our February Meeting
C. Purr and Paw: Lead Sponsorship: Lori Mueller / Lead Entertainment: Deb Newman/ Lead Decorations:Karen Scarseth / Lead Venue: Christy Myers This event has multiple leads because each person is in charge of different items. We should rethink how we do our Silent Auction and our Raffles. Possibly have bigger prices on the Raffle and have the Smaller prizes on the Silent Auction.
