REVISED - Tournament and Playing Rules
- Steel cleatswill be allowed in both Tier 1 Division and Tier 2 Division for this tournament.
- NO infield practice at anytime.
- Home Teams will be decided by a coin toss 45 minutes before the game at Tournament Headquarters. Home team is to sit on 1st base side. Should you not be at tournament headquarters 30 minutes prior to game time, you forfeit the right to be home team. Please be prepared to play at the diamond15 minutes earlier than your scheduled time throughout this weekend. We will push ahead when time/weather presents itself.
- A team will be allowed only 10minutes after scheduled start time to field a team.
- Seven complete innings or 1 hour and 30 minutes will constitute a game. If one team is winning/leading by 12 runs after 3 innings or 7 or more runs after 4 ½ complete innings, the game is terminated. Should the home team be winning after 6 ½ innings the game shall be terminated. If the home team is at bat while leading when time expires, the game is terminated at that point.
- Final games will be 7 innings with no time limit. Mercy rule still applies.
- Softball Canada 2015/16 Official Guide & Rule book rules will apply.
- NO PROTESTS- Umpire’s decision is final.
- Any ejection from a game will be ruled on by the umpires, while any ejection from the tournament will be ruled on by the tournament committee.
- If game in process is called due to weather or rain, play will resume where interrupted.
- Matching shirts with numbers (no numbers the same) will be the minimum requirements for uniforms. This rule will be strictly enforced.
- Batting helmets MUST be worn. All batting helmets must have 2 ear flaps.
- Player’s conduct is the responsibility of the coach.
- If the game is tied after 7 innings, or time limit expires the game remains tied in divisional play only.
- PLAYOFF FORMAT - after time limit expires or 7 complete innings played, international tie breaker rule applies in the immediate next inning.
- All 8 Tier 1 teams will move onto Championship play.
- Top 3 teams in each division in Tier 2 move onto Championship play.
- Any registered player can be listed on only one team roster. She must play in Tier 1 orTier 2 – not both.
- The tournament executive committee reserves the right to modify the schedule, game length, and/or time limits if weather becomes a factor.
