THE 2015-16 JP CRAIN FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES AND APPLICATION

The J.P. Crain Scholarship Fund was established by the Crain Family to provide scholarship grants to graduates of Paulding County High Schools. The fund is administered by KeyBank National Association in Cleveland.

Eligibility Requirements

1.Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and reside in PauldingCounty.

2.Applicant must be a senior student or a graduate of a PauldingCountyHigh School.

3.Applicant must be a full-time student at an accredited college or university for the full term of the scholarship.

4.Applicant must have above average grades. This requirement will generally be interpreted to be satisfied by a "B" average (3.0).

5.Applicant must not be a member or an immediate relative of a member of the selection committee. The selection committee members include:

1)Superintendent of Paulding Exempted VillageSchool District

2)Superintendent of AntwerpLocalSchool District

3)Superintendent of WayneTraceLocalSchool District

4)Auditor of PauldingCounty

5)President of the PauldingCounty Commissioners

6.Applicant must not be an employee of KeyBank National Association or any of its affiliates. Immediate relatives of any such employees are also ineligible.

7.Applicant must complete all application requirements by the specified deadline.

Evaluation of Applicants

Consideration will be given to each applicant's financial need, scholarship and character. Generally, all areas will be given equal waiting. Scholarship grants are made without regard to sex, nationality, race, religion or handicap.

Scholarship Amounts

The number of scholarships granted each year as well as their amounts will vary based on funds available and the number of qualified applicants. Scholarships granted from this fund are meant to be an integral part of the student's total financial aid package. Therefore, recipients must notify KeyBank National Association of any and all other financial aid received. This may or may not result in an adjustment to the amount awarded from this scholarship fund.

Application Requirements

Qualified applicants must submit the following materials to KeyBank in order to be considered:

1.A completed application (must be neatly printed or typed).

2.A current copy of transcript of high school grades (if first time applicant).

3.A current copy of transcript of college grades (if re-applicant).

4.A copy of the parents'/guardians' 2014 federal income tax return. (first page only)

5.A copy of the student's 2014 federal income tax return (if applicable).

6.The applicant may, if he or she so wishes, submit in writing any information which he or she feels would aid the selection committee in making their decision, provided it has not already been covered by the items above. This should include not more than one 8-1/2" X 11" page, typed or neatly printed.

Deadline

The deadline for receipt by KeyBank National Association of all information is June 22, 2015. It is the applicant's responsibility to see that all required information is complete and on file with KeyBank by the due date. Students submitting incomplete applications or not submitting all of the required materials by the due date will not be considered.
