Sixth Form Administrator

Pass 3 – Actual salary £ 12,885 - £ 13,755.

Monday to Friday 8.00am – 3.00pm (including 40 min break)

(31 ½ hours per week – Term time + 2 weeks)

  • General administration including communication with students, staff and parents
  • Student support for higher education and careers
  • Innovatively develop the student services role at post 16 level

Sixth Form Student Services Administration

Main responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring attendance and punctuality and the implementation of improvement strategies.
  • Daily communication with parents/carers regarding attendance, punctuality and general monitoring.
  • Creating databases to help monitor this.
  • Updating SIMS records and student records
  • Sixth Form timetabling
  • Course data including course changes and withdrawals
  • Developing and coordinating with all sixth form subjects to implement the sixth form behaviour policy (letters, texts and parental telephone contact).
  • Communication with parents relating to all sixth form events including external visits, reports, interviews, open evenings etc
  • General administration such as message taking, typing, SIMS, printing, etc
  • Ordering and monitoring of sixth form taxis.
  • Managing and maintaining sixth form laptop store including booking and collection.
  • UCAS application support – including application, personal statement and application submission.
  • UCAS application references and sending.
  • Student finance application support and assistance.
  • Bursary and scholarship advice and guidance.
  • Overseeing bursary criteria and eligibility.
  • Reference writing including UCAS and personal references.
  • Understand specific Oxbridge requirements for our most able students.
  • Assisting students to make applications to universities outside of the UK.
  • CV support and workshops.
  • Work experience information and assistance.
  • Careers guidance including the creation of a careers area in the sixth form.
  • Establishing and developing relationships with HE partners such as LJMU, Hope, Edge Hill and Liverpool University.
  • Planning internal visits/talks from HE institutions and industry experts.
  • Daily queries to universities/UCAS/Students loans etc - on behalf of students.
  • Organising and providing off site visits to universities for students to experience university life.
  • Supporting students independent study sessions.
  • Assisting students with work.
  • Supporting students with personal concerns.
  • Managing study area and facilities as a key sixth form contact.
  • Innovate and create opportunities for students and sixth form environment.
  • Sixth Form first aider.
