PROSPECTUS FOR FELLOWSHIP
IN CARDIAC ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY

FELLOWSHIP IN – CARDIAC ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY
(Recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences)
Objective:
To provide an intense, structured training Programme for Post DM/DNB (Cardiology) candidates, so as to enhance knowledge in all aspect of the Cardiac Electrophysiology.
Duration of Course:
18 to 24 months (full time work as per RGUHS guidelines and not permitted to work elsewhere)
Eligibility:
1) DM/DNB – in Cardiology
2) Candidates who are domicile of Karnataka are preferred
2) NRI (Foreign) Candidates must have MCI
Registration Certificate
Selection:
1) Candidates will be selected from a 4 member panel
(Approved by RGUHS)
2) If necessary entrance test will be conducted
Fees & Stipend:
Fees : Rs.47, 410/-
Monthly stipend : Rs.30, 000/- per month
Note to the In-service Candidates:
1. In-service candidates should apply through Head of the Parent Department along with No-objection certificate. If the candidate is selected he/she must submit Relieving order from the Parent Department at the time of admission.
2. No stipend will be paid for In-service Candidates and also to the sponsored Candidates.

Course contents:
a. Anatomy/ Physiology of Heart
b. Clinical Electrophysiology
c. Holter analysis/Tilt table test
d. Device implantation including pacemakers, Defibrillator &
Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT)
e. Programming & follow up of Devices
f. Conventional Electrophysiology study and interpretation of
Intra-cardiac ECGs.
g. Hands on training in Electrophysiology study & RF ablation
of common arrhythmias.
h. 3D Mapping & RF ablation of complex arrhythmias, theory
and practice.
i. Attending courses conducted on Electrophysiology in other
institutions.
j. Clinical research work related to Electrophysiology study and
devices.
Training includes:
1. Subject seminars/ Journal club
2. Conference presentation/ Symposium
3. Clinical discussion/ Case presentations
4. Lecturers/ Exposure to Cath Lab and OT
5. Routine work and duties of hospital
6. Training in All aspects of Cardiac Electrophysiology
7. Six months internal assessment
8. Final certifying examination (Clinical and Practical)
