Stock No. 7534: 36" Blanchard No. 20ED rotary surface grinder S/N 14761 remanufactured to new
tolerances
Specifications:
1. 36" diameter chuck x 3/8" magnet height (1/2 " when new) x 24" under grinding wheel.
2. 6 to 33 rpm (6) chuck speed.
3. 20" diameter segmented grinding wheel.
4. 30 HP spindle motor, 720 rpm, 230/460 volt, 3 phase.
5. Trabon lubrication system.
6. Downfeed system pictured will be removed and replaced with standard gearbox downfeed:
0 to 80 thousands/min. (21) vertical down feed settings.
7. Wheel head has rapid power raising and lowering.
8. Coolant system with (3) ¾ HP Gusher pumps & motorized sludge drag-out conveyor.
9. Built-in wheel dresser.
10. Will have all new electrical controls (including soft start & brake with variable speed spindle rpm),
new magnetic chuck control and new wiring for motors, etc.
11. 55” F-B x 140” L-R x 105” High; 13,000 lbs.
Rebuilt to New Tolerances:
12. Disassembled into major components including wheel head, incremental downfeed gearbox,
magnetic chuck speed gearbox and saddle in-feed gear train.
13. All parts sandblasted to bare metal, sprayed with pure polyester resin, sanded & painted with
epoxy paint to new appearance. Machine parts will be glass beaded.
14. All ways re-ground to new specifications and mating parts hand scraped to new bearing
quality.
15. Spindle wheel head, magnetic chuck speed gearbox and saddle in-feed gear train rebuilt with
all new bearings and other parts replaced if showing more than minimal wear. Incremental down-
feed gearbox totally rebuilt.
16. All motors re-conditioning with new bearings including spindle grinding head.
17. All new Hoffman enclosure, magnetic chuck control, starters, solenoids, relays, push buttons, etc.
18. All new sheet metal guards fabricated.
19. The addition of Gortite way covers will protect vertical ways from grinding grit.
20. The ways will be lubricated automatically by the rebuilt Trabon lubrication system.
Guarantee:
The machine will be guaranteed to hold new tolerances which means it will grind flat within
0003 over the surface of the chuck. However, based on past experience we believe the machine will
grind within .0002 to .0003 or better. All mechanical work is guaranteed one year with the exception
of spindle bearings which are sixty days only due to factors which are typically beyond our control.
The electrical control is guaranteed 1000 hours excluding power surges and maintenance personnel
errors.
