PUBLIC EXAMINATIONS REPORT FOR CURRENT
AND PROSPECTIVE PARENTS
A2 results August 2017
As current Emanuel parents will know, and in conjunction with around 50 other schools including Eton and St Paul’s, we choose not to submit our public examination results to the national press in August. However, we realise that parents want to know how the pupils at Emanuel are performing academically in the public examinations. So here are the key facts about this year’s exam results at A2 and, on page 2, there is a detailed breakdown of the grades achieved by subject.
The headline statistics this year are:
1. 92.9% of this year’s A2 results are graded at A* - C (last year 85.6%)
2. 42.4% of the results are graded at A or A* (last year 39.3%)
3. 28 students (out of 117) have scored AAA - A*A*A*A*. This represents 24% of the year group (last year 17%)
4. Four students have scored A*A*A* and one student has scored A*A*A*A*
A full breakdown of the results for each department is given overleaf. Please interpret this data with care: with small numbers there are sizeable variations from year to year and note that some of these grades will change following remarks.
