ROCKFORD PUBLIC SCHOOLS SPECIAL OLYMPICS TEAM

THE MUHL MUSTANG'S - FEBRUARY 2016 NEWSLETTER

I hope everyone is having a good start to 2016. I am thrilled to be back coaching after a year off. Thanks to Tom DeRidder for holding the team together in my absence. Welcome to new team members TayCrayton (RESA), Jabri Robinson (FMS), Tyler Ruiz(EHS), and Debra Smith (LMS). We wish all the best to Chase Williams who graduated and is moving into the adult world.

The Mustangs had a busy and successful winter. Nathan Schwartz qualified for the State Bowling Tournament where he finished 3rd. Two athletes participated in basketball skills with Debra Smith qualifying for the State Basketball Tournament in March. In January and February 6 snowshoe athletes braved the cold. Carrie Albrecht, Stella Campos, Mason Ferrero, Ethan Holeman, Austin Odum, and Mario Sallisparticipate in the State Winter Games, bringing back 4 gold medals. Our basketball team had 15 participants. The developmental squad played 3 games. The high school team did so well that they moved up 2 divisions and still finished with a record of 5-3. Thanks to all the parents and friends who helped coach and chaperone these activities.

We always welcome new people to the team. If you have friends who would enjoy being part of the team, have them contact Mrs. Kimel for information.
