Job Summary:

Manages the buying processes. Demonstrates strong knowledge of purchasing and sourcing concepts and principles to support the purchasing and materials functions. Interfaces between the supplier and the business. Maintains active knowledge of the prices for products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Places and follows up on Purchase Orders, including communications with impacted parties.
  • Manages relationships with suppliers for PO execution.
  • Analyzes, verifies and tracks supplier promise date accuracy, certifications, prices, ship dates and materials ordered
  • Manages new vendor set up processes
  • Manages problems and schedule changes, communicating with appropriate parties.
  • Manages shipping processes and follows up in a timely manner as needed
  • Maintains data on ERP system that supports purchasing process.
  • Provides Customer Service to internal and external customers
  • Works with key suppliers to improve On Time Delivery and Quality of services.
  • Assists in the continuous development of the Materials and Purchasing functions towards best practices.
  • Supports the Materials Department processes related to inventory, shipments and other activities as needed.
  • Follows these and additional instructions as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Excel and Word programs.
  • Good communication and follow up skills.
  • Follows instructions and records information.
  • Must pass pre-employment requirements, including background check and drug screen.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to read, write, speak English.

Work Environment:

  • May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, smoke (Not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels).
  • Safety training and equipment are provided by MPP in accordance with applicable law, industry standards and company policy.
  • Occasionally lifts 25 – 40 #’s.
