TIRS Copy Checklist

Title: Subtitle / List full title. For clarity, separate the subtitle from the title with a colon.
Authors / List all authors in final order. Include academic and professional degrees.
Affiliations / Provide institutional affiliation for each author, with city, state, and country.
Contact details / Indicate corresponding author and provide mailing address and email.
Conference presentation / Provide the name, date, and location of the conference or workshop at which the paper was presented, if appropriate.
Conflict of interest / (1) List any potential conflicts with respect to the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article; or (2) indicate that there were no conflicts of interest
Funding / List any funding sources or indicate there were none.
Abstract / Abstract length: 150-250 words. Original research articles should have a structured abstract divided into Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion sections.
Keywords / List 5-6 keywords for indexing and online searchability.
Text / Papers should be organized as follows: Introduction, Materials and Methods (for experimental papers), Results, Discussion, and Conclusions. Other descriptive headings and subheadings may be used, if appropriate.
Studies involving humans/animals must include institutional review board/ethics committee approval statement in the Methods.
References / References and citations must be formatted according to the AMA Manual of Style, 11th edition (ie, superscripted numbers in text).
Full and complete (no “in preparation” or “unpublished” references).
Tables / All tables must be supplied as Word- or Excel-based tables. Each table must be cited in the text.
Provide a short caption for each table and place all tables and table captions at the end of the manuscript, after references.
Figures / Each figure should be good quality; submit original image files (eg, Word or Excel charts) when possible. If scans are submitted they should be 300 dpi minimum and saved as a *.jpg, *.eps, or *.tif file.
Each figure must be cited in the text.
Provide a short caption for each figure and place all captions at the end of the manuscript, after references.
Figures will be published in grayscale in the printed journal and in color in the online version. There is a charge for color in the printed journal. Legends must avoid terms indicating color.
Not previously published (or must be sufficiently modified).
