Guidance on group membership

Group membership gives you access to the protected documents for the group, to the forum when it is group restricted and now to the main email reflector to a group when it has decided to use the new email reflector feature (groupmail) managed through the website.

The information provided in this document assumes that the user has a profile and is logged in to the website through the log in window shown below.

How do I know whether I am a member of a group or not?

1‘My groups’ page

Once logged in, the box ‘My Profile’, available in the right-hand side of the page, gives you quick access to the main pages of your profile, including the page ‘My groups’.

This page gives you an overview of all the groups available under CEPT.org. The group-hierarchy is marked with icons indicating your personal involvement in the groups. The ones of which you are a member are ticked with the following sign:

-If you are not a member of this group, the ‘Group information’ looks as follows:

3How to apply to a group membership

Click on the link ‘Request group membership’ in the group information box as shown in the picture above. This leads you to the following page where you can easily apply:

In the case where the group under consideration has activated the new email reflector feature (groupmail), the box regarding the groupmail membership appears and is ticket by default (as shown in the picture above). You can un-tick it if you know, when applying, that you are not interested in receiving emails from this group.
