MISSOURI COMMUNITY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

TO MSU FOR FALL 2017

Each spring Missouri State University offersa Missouri Community College Scholarship for two transfer students from each public community college in the state based on the recommendation of the college’s president. To be eligible, students must have completed at least 42 transferable credit hours prior to their first semester at MSU and be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 (which is Crowder’s criteria).

Students must also have applied for Admission to MSU by March 1(including official transcripts) to be eligible for this Scholarship although our selection process is later.

In order for Crowder College President,Dr. Jennifer Methvin, to select the two students to recommend, we take applications, and the form is now available on the Crowder website under Announcements or contact the Crowder College President’s Office ( or 417-455-5534).

Applications must be typed, completed, signed and returned to the President’s Office by 5:00 p.m.,Friday,March 31. For those unable to come to the Neosho campus, applications may be emailed to with a scanned or typed signature or mailed to the President’s Office, 601 Laclede Avenue, Neosho, MO 64850.

Recipients will be selected shortly thereafter by the President upon recommendation of a Scholarship Committee based on criteria including academic achievement at Crowder, academic promise, citizenship, co-curricular activity, and the potential to be an outstanding student at MSU.We will notifythe MSU Financial Aid office of the two students we recommend as soon as possible, no later than May 1.

According to MSU, this scholarship is only available for students entering in the fall semester, not in the spring. However, they are available to students completing their degree at anyCrowder instructional center.

This Scholarship is valued at $2,000 per academic year and is renewable for one additional year if the recipient completes 27 hours the first year and achieves a cumulative MSU grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
