SCHMITZ CARGOBULL’S GOT TALENT SAYS ENTERTAINMENT HAULIER

R Jameson Transport – a specialist transport operator for the entertainment industry – is singing the praises of four new MEGA box trailers purchased from Schmitz Cargobull. One of the trailers’ first tasks has been delivering equipment ready for the 2012 BRIT Awards at London’s O2 Arena.

The Buckinghamshire-based company, which transports equipment to venues for events such as TV shows, exhibitions and awards ceremonies, says the new 100m3 flat floor trailers leave nothing overlooked: “Everything you could need is there and every detail has been thought of,” said Richard Jameson, owner of R Jameson Transport.

Coupling 30cm lower than conventional box trailers, the Schmitz Cargobull MEGA box model allows for additional load capacity by running at a lower height throughout the length of the trailer.

“The construction and rigidity of these trailers is first class – from the modular design to the fully galvanised chassis and robust FERROPLAST® side panels. Everything has been done for a reason which means that you get exactly what you need first-time without having to retrofit at a later stage,” he added.

A typical load for R Jameson Transport will include lighting, sound and rigging equipment, some of which is brought in specially from the Continent, meaning trailers must comply with the 4m height limit in Europe. Additionally, the completelyflat floor assists with loading as there is no step to contend with.

“Mechanics in particular love Schmitz Cargobull trailers because they are so easy to work on. The design of the trailers means we have the freedom to move things around as required due to the modular and bolted construction,” added Jameson.

The new trailers, acquired through Cargobull Finance, are replacing older step-frame models and join a core fleet which includes two rigids, five tractor units and 10 trailers.

“Our company is growing year-on-year, meaning we have to expand our fleet in-line with customer demand. The kind of European-spec trailer I need is not widely available on the second-hand market in the UK, hence the decision to buy new. The cost and value for money we get with Schmitz is fantastic,” added Jameson.

These trailers are supported by a10 year chassis anti-corrosion warranty and five-year structural warranty.
