TRAFFIC ADVISORY

NAGAR KIRTAN ON THE MARTYRDOM DAY ANNIVERSAY OF

SHRI GURU TEG BAHADUR SAHIB JI ON 24.11.2014

A Nagar Kirtan in the form of procession, accompanying theShri Guru Granth Sahib decorated in Palki Sahib, will be taken out at 0930 hrs on 24.11.2014 on the Martyrdom Day Anniversary of Shri Guru TeghBahadur Sahib Ji from Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib, ChandniChowk, Delhi and will terminate at GurudwaraRakabGanj Sahib, New Delhi in the evening.

The Nagar Kirtan shall include decorated Horses, Elephants, “Gatka” Parties, apart from other ShabdiJathas, Bands and School/College Children. The Nagar Kirtan shall pass through the following routes:-

GURDWARA SIS GANJ SAHIB CHANDNI CHOWK: NAI SARAK: CHAWRI BAZAR: HAUZ QAZI: AJMERI GATE: PAHARGANJ BRIDGE : DESH BANDU GUPTA ROAD : CHOONA MANDI: PANCHKUIAN ROAD : BANGLA SAHIB MARG : BANGLA SWEET : KALEVA : KALI BARI MARG : BABA KHARAK SINGH MARG : GURUDWARA BANGLA SAHIB : GOLE DAK KHANA : PT. PANT MARG AND WILL TERMINATE AT GURUDWARA RAKAB GANJ, NEW DELHI.

Head of procession is expected to reach GurdwaraRakabGanj at about 6.00 PM andit’s tail (Sawari Sahib) would be reaching there at about 11.00 PM.

From 9.30a.m. to 10.30 p.m.

Directions for Commercial Vehicles

No commercial vehicle will be allowed on JawaharLalNehruMarg till the tail of the procession reaches ChoonaMandi. Similarly there will be restriction on commercial vehicles on Ring Road between Ashram Chowk to Chandgi Ram Akhara, SubashMarg, ShyamaPrasad MukherjeeMarg, NayaBazar andDeshBandhu Gupta Road. Vehicles approaching North Delhi from South Delhi shall take Ashram Chowk – Ring Road – DhaulaKaun – Punjabi Bagh – Azad Pur and vice-versa for onward journey.

Special instruction to general public

  1. Commuters going to New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway station, and ISBT should leave in advance and have sufficient time for absorbing possible delays in routes.
  2. Avail public transport to help decongestion of roads.
  3. Park their vehicles only at designated parking lots and avoid roadside parking as it causes hindrance to normal flow of traffic.
  4. In case any unusual/unidentified object or person is seen moving in suspicious circumstances it must be informed to Police Control Room.

The public is advised to make maximum use of public transport, especially Delhi Metro. Adequate traffic arrangements have been made to ensure proper movement of devotees and keep the general flow of traffic normal and smooth. Motorists are advised to follow the diversions and obey instructions of the traffic police. .
