Campaign Guidelines
In order to have a fair campaign process, all candidates must abide by the guidelines below. Failure to adhere to the guidelines will result in disqualification from the election process.
- Campaign posters and flyers can be posted starting on Monday, May 4th
- All campaign posters must be signed off by Scales(3302), Walker (2306), or Bentley (3314)before being hung up. If they have not been signed, they will be removed.
- No food or candy can be given away during your campaign week. This is considered bribery.
- Candidates shall not use obscene, racial, discriminatory, or any other controversial materials on any campaign materials.
- Candidates must run as an individual. No group or pair campaigns will be allowed.
- All candidates will speak to the student body on the morning announcements during 2nd period starting on Monday, May 11ththrough Wednesday, May 13th.Speeches must be no longer than 60 secondsand can only be delivered by the candidate running for office. Refer to your platform to help you with writing your speech. Speeches are due to Walker (2306) or Scales (3302) by Monday, May 4th once being approved to run for office, only typed speeches will be accepted.
- You will be given the opportunity to campaign in person during lunch in the commons area on Thursday, May 14th. Tables will be provided. This is strongly encouraged.
- Posters and Flyers MUST be taken down by Tuesday, May 19th by the end of the school day.

Thursday, April 16th- (Lunch A) Interest Meeting for SGA for 2015-2016 in Room 3302
April 16th- April 23rd – Pick up Intent to Run & Executive Board Application Forms from Scales or Walker
Friday, April 24th – ALL Applications due to Scales or Walker.This includes Officer Intent to RunExec Council Apps.
Wednesday, April 29th– Approval of Qualified Candidates notified by email.
Monday, May 4th– Friday, May 15th– Campaigning (see rules above)
Monday, May 4th – Speeches Due to Scales or Walker
May 11th – May 13th–Campaign announcementsduring second period.Executive: 5/11, Seniors: 5/12, Juniors: 5/13
May 14th– Campaign during lunch in the commons area.
Monday, May 18th and Tuesday, May19th– Voting
May 19th– All Campaign signs must be removed by the end of the school day.
Thursday, May 21st- Winners announced.
Friday, May 22nd– Officers Meeting of all New Officers during Lunch A&B in 3302 (required)
Wednesday, May27th– Executive Council Members Notified of acceptance on council
