15th – Deadline to e-mail annual performance evaluations to department faculty members. Tenure-appraisals should also be electronically transmitted for tenure-earning faculty members.

15th – Strategic plan and results should be completed for 2012-13

19th– Deadline for withdrawal from Summer B (no refund)

August

If not using the FAIR SAVE system for departmental faculty scholarship reporting, submit department Scholarship Report to Academic Affairs (Marianne Jaffee)

1st -- ALC improvement plans are finalizedand implemented for the coming academic year.

2nd– Commencement - 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

9th – Final grades for Summer B & C term post toMyWings

Grades are due from Faculty on 8/6/13 by 10:00

5th – Academic year appointments begin for 9-month faculty

End August – AA sends out applications for faculty development grants.

30th - Remind faculty of the need to have Summer FAR completed and signed by Friday September 6th.

September

1st – Deadline to submit Request to Plan New Program proposals (Phase 1:

ALCs and GALCsare reviewed and updated in TracDat, including mission, assessment approaches, outcomes, measures, four year assessment plan, results and evaluation, personnel, courses, and curriculum map.

For programs doing ALC assessment on an academic year cycle, chairs hold department meetings to discuss ALC assessment results from the prior academic year. Results and evaluation are finalized in TracDat (as results and evaluation), as are specific improvement plans (as actions taken and follow-up).

Chair notifies faculty members who are in their third year of tenure earning service that a colleague’s third-year tenure appraisal will be conducted in February or March and that the faculty member will need to compile a dossier consistent with the requirements of the BOT-UFF Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Vita/scholarship data should be continually updated into the FAIR SAVE system.

2nd– Labor Day, no classes

Mid-September – Strategic Plan (actions) modified (alterations, additions, deletions) where appropriate for 2013-2014 in TracDat.

16th – Candidates for promotion and tenure submit dossiers to Chairs

20th– Deadline for withdrawal 25% refund (complete withdrawal)

23rd– Fall Convocation (Lazzara Hall 10:00 am)

27th– Due date for submission of departmental letters of recommendation for promotion and tenure candidates; Chair provides a copy to the candidate(s) who may, within five days, respond in writing to the letters.

October

Early October – Deadline for AA development grants (teaching, research, and proposal development).

4TH– P&T candidates submit to Chair any written responses to the departmental letters of recommendations.

7TH - Chair forwards the P&T dossiers to the department P&T Committee.

12th(APPROX)– Completed applications for one semester full pay sabbaticals with recommendations from the Chair and Dean are due in the Office of Academic Affairs by 5:00 p.m.

12TH (APPROX) – Completed applications for two semester half pay sabbaticals are due in the College Dean’s Office by 5:00 p.m.

Mid-October – Deadline to apply for Transformational Learning Opportunity grants in Undergraduate Studies.

17TH– Mid-term grades in MyWings (only freshmen receive mid-term grades)

Due from faculty on 10/15 by 10:00 am

18TH – Department committee provides its written assessment and recommendation to the P&T candidate(s) and the Chair.

25th – P&T candidate submits to the Chair any written response to the department committee’s written assessment and recommendation.

November

1st– Deadline for withdrawal from fall (no refund)

No Later Than 4th – P&T candidate meets with the Chair to receive a copy of the Chair’s written assessment and recommendation. Candidate may, within five days, respond in writing to the Chair’s written assessment and recommendation.

11th – Veteran’s Day, no classes

11TH– P&T candidate submits to the Chair any written responses to the Chair’s written assessment and recommendation. If the candidate wishes, the Chair submits the dossier to the Dean.

No later than 18th– Dean meets with departmental committee and Chair if their recommendations do not agree.

28th – 31stThanksgiving Holiday, no classes

29th- Last day for the Dean to submit his/her written assessment and recommendation to the P&T candidate(s).

December

6th – Classes end for fall term

6th – P&T candidate submits to the Dean his/her written response, if any, to the Dean’s assessment and recommendation. If the candidate wishes, the Dean submits the dossier to the Provost.

7th through 13th – Final Exams

No later than 11th – The Provost makes the dossiers available to the University P&T Committee.

13th - Commencement

17th– Final grades due in MyWings by 10:00 a.m.

January, 2014

20th– Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday, no classes

No later than 24th– University P&T Committee provides its written assessment and recommendation to the candidates. A candidate may, within five days, respond in writing to the Committee’s written assessment and recommendation.

31st- Deadline for withdrawal 25% refund (complete withdrawal)

31st– ALC / GALC fall data, results and evaluation are recorded in TracDat.

No later than 31ST – P&T candidate submits to the University P&T Committee any written response to the Committee’s written assessment and recommendation. The Committee submits its written assessment and recommendation along with the candidate’s written response, if any, to the Provost.

February

1st – Deadline to submit (Full) New Program Proposal (Phase II:

Remind members on the Colleague’s Third-Year Tenure Appraisal Committee of their obligation to complete that review by the end of March or as per the deadline noted in departmental bylaws.

No later than 14th – Provost provides the candidate with his draft assessment. The candidate may, within five days, respond in writing and may meet with the Provost during this five day period.

No later than 21st– P&T candidate submits to the Provost any written response.

25th - Deadline to submit mid-term grades for Freshmen by 10 a.m.

No later than 28th– Provost provides the candidate with his final assessment and recommendation. The candidate may, within five days, respond in writing and may meet with the Provost during this five day period. A copy of the Provost’s final written assessment is forwarded to the candidate’s dean, chair, and to the chairs of the University P&T and departmental P&T Committees. Any candidate being considered for tenure prior to the sixth year may withdraw from consideration without prejudice (before Provost delivers final assessment).

March

1st–Completed ALCs/GALCsfor the prior academic or calendar year are due in TracDat.

No later than 7TH– Candidate submits to the Provost any written response.

No later than 10TH– Provost provides the dossiers with his final assessment and recommendation, and the candidate’s written response, if any, to the President.

17th through 23rd– Spring Break

No later than 24TH– The President forwards a copy of his/her recommendation to the candidate who has five days from receipt to submit a written response.

28th– Last day to withdraw from spring classes (no refund)

No later than 31st – The President takes final action on promotion cases and forwards positive tenure recommendations to the Board of Trustees.

April

Per the Contract, no later than the 1st –tentative written teaching assignments for the next academic year need to be provided to returning faculty members

12th– Notify faculty members who are eligible for promotion and tenure.

18th – Classes end

19th – 25th– Final exams

25th – Commencement

2nd– end of academic year contract for nine-month faculty
