ROAD RACE

Held under British Cycling Technical Rules and Regulations.
Promoted by South West Scotland Cycling Project.
Race Details
Headquarters: GWCS Unit, Biggar Mill, Port Rd, Dalbeattie, Dumfries and Galloway DG5 4AZ
Race Start Time: 10.30am. Race will roll out from the HQ.
Sign On: Sign on will open at 9am and close at 10.10am. Please be advised
that if you haven’t signed on by 10.10am, your place may be
given to someone wishing to enter on the day.
Refreshments: Refreshments will be available at the HQ.
Course: start on the A710 just past High Street exit. Continue to Sandyhills, where turn left (m). Bear left after 3 miles onto B793. Continue to T-junction, where turn left onto A711 (caution) (m). Continue through Dalbeatie. Turn left onto A710 to complete circuit. Race distance 85km

Rider information / Safety points.
Rider Behavior:
This race is run on open roads, which means all riders and race personnel have to abide by the highway code.
Marshals and convoy drivers are only there to help the smooth passage of the race, they have no authority to stop traffic, so please be understanding that they’ve given up their day to do this.
No riders are allowed to cross the white line in the road. This is a major concern for the police and we will be very strict on this. Numbers will be taken and riders disqualified.
Riders are not allowed to overtake the lead car under any circumstances. If for any reason the lead car has to stop, the commissaire will re start the race with the appropriate time gaps.
Race service will only be provided in the form of spare wheels. Could all even number riders provide a spare front wheel and all odd number riders a rear. Mark your wheel well so it can be identified after the event. Please also note that it won’t be possible to ensure you get your own wheel if you puncture, so please be prepared to use someone else’s and that someone else may use yours. (probably best not to put your best carbon one in!)
Feeding must only be done from the left hand side of the road and not from a moving car.
Please ask anyone watching the race to park considerately. Please, also no parking within sight of the finish line.
Please remember to bring your British Cycling race license.
Prizes:
There will be no prizes on the day. SWSCP series points will be awarded to riders from South West clubs and any riders who have registered with the series from non SW clubs.
If you are from a non SW club and would like to register for the series, there will be registration forms at the sign on.
