Louquender (Quen) Robinson, daughter of Beulah and Eugene Robinson, was born July 11, 1975 in Nassau County, New York. She graduated from North Springs High School in Sandy Springs, Georgia and received her undergraduate degree from Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, NC. She earned her M.A. from Georgia State University and was pursuing a PhD from the University of Georgia.

Quen became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated through the Omega Chapter on the campus on Winston-Salem State University in the spring of 1997. After graduation she was a member of the Omicron Kappa Zeta chapter in College Park, Georgia. In 1999, she became a Charter member of the Rho Epsilon Zeta chapter in Marietta, Georgia and was an active member until her death. Her love for education prompted the Rho Epsilon Zeta chapter to offer a scholarship in her memory.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is committed to Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love, and Finer Womanhood. We believe in encouraging the achievements of students who demonstrate educational excellence. The Louquender Robinson Memorial Scholarship was created to provide assistance to outstanding students to help defray the cost of their education.

Criteria for Rho Epsilon Zeta Foundation ~ Louquender Robinson Memorial Scholarship

Applicant qualifications:

·  African American female student

·  3.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) or higher

·  Graduating high school senior (Spring 2017)

·  Permanent resident of Georgia

·  Attends high school in Cherokee, Cobb, Gwinnett, North Fulton, or Paulding Counties

·  Active in community service activities (church, volunteering, service organizations, mentoring, etc.)

·  Must be accepted to and plan to attend an accredited college or university

·  (Degree programs offered by institutions that offer primarily or exclusively on-line instruction do not qualify)

A complete application packet includes:

·  Completed application

·  450-500 word essay in MLA Format

·  One (1) sealed high school transcript

·  Two (2) sealed letters of recommendation from non-family members

A person who can verify your community service must write one of the letters. All recommendations should be on the organization’s letterhead.

** Please note that scholarship funds are not released until a letter of registration (proof of registration) is received from the student’s college or university.
