Visit to Walton-on-the-Naze, Thursday 14th July
Our topic this half term is ‘Holidays’ and as part of this topic we will be learning all about seaside resorts. On Thursday 14th July we will be visiting Walton on the Naze so that we can experience some of the things we have been learning about and to prepare the children for further work back in class.
The children have worked exceptionally hard this year, so we really hope this will be a day full of fun! The children can bring a small bucket and spade and wear suitable summer clothing, including sunscreen and a sun hat. They will also need to bring a packed lunch, drink (no glass bottles or cans) and a bottle of water. We will be visiting souvenir shops, so the children can bring up to £5 spending money for the day. (This seems quite a lot of money but we want the children to get a flavour of a day at the seaside; they can choose to buy a souvenir, an ice-cream or a bucket and spade. It is up to £5 so less is also fine).
In order for this trip to go ahead we would like to request a voluntary contribution of £19.00 per child. Please make payment via ParentPay, no later than Friday 1st July, if you prefer to pay via Paypoint in a local shop please collect a bar code from the school office. Please see me if this payment creates difficulties.
If your child is entitled to a free school meal and you would like the school kitchen to provide a packed lunch, please inform the school office 3 days prior to the visit.
Please make sure your child arrives at school promptly for 8.30am. We will betravelling by coachand aim to return to school by approximately3.25pmdepending on traffic.
Parent helpers are always an important part of a trip. If you are available and would like to accompany the class please complete the slip below. We will confirm if your help will be required by Wednesday 6th July.
