Pelican Flat Public School – Temporary Classroom Teacher Position for 2017

Position Details:

Expressions of interest are invited from teachers interested in applying for the position of temporary classroom teacher from the beginning of Term 1, 2017 to the end of Term 4, 2017.

Pelican Flat Public School is an established K-6 coeducational small primary school. The school is located 24kms south of Newcastle in the Hunter/ Central Coast Region. The school has a current enrolment of 46 students, inclusive of 12% Aboriginal students. Our school values and culture underpin our daily work ensuring we have a “Caring, Sharing and Learning” environment as defined in our school motto. Our school caters for differentiation and ensuring every child reaches their full potential to become autonomous learners and capable citizens. Pelican Flat Public School is a member of the Galgabba Local Management Group and prides itself on the partnerships it has with these other local schools and community groups.

Position Criteria

  • Approval to teach K-6 with demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high quality, differentiated teaching and learning programs in literacy and numeracy for multi-stage classes.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience to support the co-ordination of whole-school technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and coordinate whole-school sporting initiatives and programs.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of school and Community of School (CoS) teams to support school directions.

Please note: if this position is paid at a higher rate of pay than the successful applicant’s substantive position, the incumbent will be remunerated by way of a higher duties allowance. This allowance comes with certain conditions, such as the rate of payment for leave in excess of 5 days and the rate of payment applicable for school vacations. Please refer to section 1.5.2.5 of the Teachers Handbook available atfor further information.
