Import Or Open Your Exam

How to publish a quiz/exam to your SacCT 9.1 course using Respondus follow these steps:

Import or Open your Exam

Open the Respondus software. You will begin in the Start Tab area.
From the Current Personality drop down menu select Blackboard 7.x-9.x
Open or Import your exam questions
If you are using an existing respondus exam file click Open to select the exam
Use the Import Questions option if you are using an exam you have created outside of respondus (word doc, plain text, etc).
Exam questions will open in the Edit Tab area, review and make changes to questions if needed

Generate Test or Pool File

Click the Preview and Publish tab
From the options on left select Publish to Blackboard, and then click the Publish Wizard button
The Publish Wizard window will display.
Select the Save pool to local file for manual uploading option and click Next.
Click the Save As button. Give your file a name and choose an easy to find location to save the file (ie. desktop)
Back in the Publish Wizard window, in step 2, select Pool or Test.
Pool – import using Pools option in SacCT 9.1, will be added as a set of questions that can be used to create exams in SacCT 9.1.
Test – import using Tests option in SacCT 9.1, will be added as an exam
Click Finish. A zip file will be saved to your computer.

Open your SacCT 9.1 course
From the Control Panel, open the Course Tools and select Tests, Surveys and Pools option
Choose Tests or Pools (depending on the type of zip file you generated from Respondus)
Click Import Test (or Import Pools)
Use the Browse My computer option to locate the zip file you saved
Click Submit
