RE: Junior Service League of Wenatchee Scholarship

Enclosed is information about a scholarship opportunity for women who have been enrolled in a college program in the past and are returning to complete their education and may need a little help.

The Junior Service League of Wenatchee is pleased to offer two scholarships to women who are ready to achieve their educational goals. Students who have already returned or are enrolling in college after an interruption of their educational path are eligible. JSLW awards two one thousand dollar scholarships with the award sent directly to the college after enrollment status has been confirmed with a student ID number.

To qualify, these requirements must be met:

·  Students must be currently registered at Wenatchee Valley College, Big Bend Community College, or Central Washington University. While you may have completed some previous college work, 15 credit hours must have been completed within the past 2 years.

·  Completed application form

·  A Personal Statement that states your educational plans and goals

o  - Description of Financial Need

o  A statement of how your previous experiences have prepared you to become successful in finishing your studies

·  Unofficial transcripts of current and previously completed coursework

·  Two (2) references (highlighting why you would be successful)

(Forms should be signed by the appropriate college/university official and submitted with the other documents to JSLW.)

Deadline for submission: Friday, March 3,2017. All applications will be reviewed by the JSLW Scholarship Committee and selected recipients will be notified by April 15. Scholarship recipients are invited to attend the Junior Service league Summer meeting in June for the award presentation. Scholarship recipients will be asked for a one page letter at the end of the academic year letting us know the value of the scholarship and how they first learned about it.
