South Milford Surgeryarelooking for a Patient Services Manager. This Person will enable the effective and efficient day to day operation of the Practice and patient-facing services and to ensure the systems, support and facilities to deliver these services are available.

We are a welcoming Practice with a focus on a high quality of care for our patients. We are looking for a patient focused professional person to lead our Patient Services team who can motivate others and lead by example. We work in an ever changing environment and the post holder will have to implement new procedures regularly and monitor and feedback on performance to staff and the management team. The role is a hands on operational one in the heart of the surgery with responsibility for the following

  • Management of patient services team
  • Staff Appraisals
  • Managing and authorising overtime in Patient Services Team
  • Resolution of day to day issues such as IT problems, facility breakdowns
  • Implementation of procedures and management of compliance with protocols
  • Management of sickness and other issues such as monitoring of time keeping and dealing with any concerns that may arise.
  • Cancelling of clinics for clinical staff
  • Review, update and issue Reception Protocols regularly
  • Maintain a clear understanding of telephone systems, answering messages and out of hours service across sites
  • Management of staff rotas, holiday and sickness coverensuring adequate staff levels are maintained at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and staff at all levels of the organisation
  • Attend any training that may applicable to the role
  • Be flexible and able to motivate others effectively
  • Health and Safety responsibilities
  • Duties may be varied under the direction of the Practice Manager and partners

You will have the ability to work under pressure and proven experience of managing your own time and workload in a busy environment. Previous experience in managing a team would be desirable. Office experience would be preferable and knowledge of working in a health care environment would be an advantage.

You must be able to confidently use a computer but training will be given on using the clinical system, which is System One, if required.

Hours of work are to be agreed with the Managing Partner. Applicants must be flexible in order to provide cover for leave and sickness as necessary.

You must be someone who can lead and motivate others, be enthusiastic and dedicated with a good sense of humour and able to think on your feet in unexpected situations that require immediate action.
