Hours: / 30-37.5 hours per week (negotiable)
Working Days: / 4 or 5 weekdays (negotiable) between the hours of 8am and 6.30pm

Job Purpose

The Project Manager is primarily responsible for managing the successful delivery of grant funded, contracted and commissioned projects in line with quality standards and all-round company ethos.

The Project Manager is responsible for identifying and recruiting participants, supporting the recruitment and development of freelancers as well as volunteers. A significant part of the role is monitoring and reporting project outputs to commissioning and funding agencies, connecting with Pedestrian’s wider evidence base and implementing best practice into future working.

The role also calls for the support of business development activity.


Principal Tasks

Project Manager

·  Deliver successful project outcomes in-line with time, quality and cost targets

·  Monitor, evidence and report on project outcomes and outputs

·  Liaise with the team in order to schedule, organise and ensure effectively resourced project delivery

·  Manage freelancers in line with project requirements

·  Control expenditure in line with approved budgets

·  Ensure the secure holding, management and monitoring of data such that project, financial and management reports can be consistently and accurately generated

Training & Development

·  Develop training and development opportunities for new staff, interns, volunteers and freelancers where required

Funding

·  Support the Director to develop bid proposals for funding agencies, grant schemes, commissioners and trusts

·  Develop networks and partnerships to maximise new business opportunities

·  Write proposals and quotes for projects for the purpose of business development

General Duties

·  A member of the safeguarding team

·  Represent the organisation at meetings and events as required

·  General office and administrative duties

·  Occasional out-of-hours working as demanded by the post

Eligibility

·  Have relevant qualifications and experience in the creative background/field

·  Are willing to undergo a DBS check

Essentials

·  Intuitive, a self-starter and thrives from autonomy

·  Experience of managing commissioned projects with multiple clients/ funders

·  Experience of managing a delivery team

·  Excellent organisation and co-ordination skills

·  Can design effective monitoring frameworks and has experience of report writing for funders

·  Strong presentational and interpersonal skills

·  Has a very positive outlook, with a creative mind and lateral thinking

·  Possesses strong communication skills (verbal & written) to communicate with a range of different stakeholders

·  Strong budget management skills and financial literacy

·  Perceptive, resilient, imaginative and energetic

·  Experience

·  Has leadership skills and can delegate and bring other peoples ideas into the foreground

·  Passionate about ‘youth voice’ and pioneering potential in people!

·  Is liberal minded but challenges prejudices

·  Familiarity with good safeguarding practice

·  Fluent in using Microsoft Office (especially Word, can use the basics in Excel)

·  Educated to degree standard

Desirables

·  Experience working in the voluntary sector/ organisation

·  Has experience of working with challenging young people

·  Experience creating and running young people led steering groups

·  Qualified Arts Award Assessor

·  PRINCE2 Practitioner (or equivalent)

·  Has experience managing programmes involving accreditation, Arts Award, and focusing on social issues

·  Has access to own transport
