Position: Food Service Assistant(part-time)

Summary: Meals On Wheels of Sheboygan County, Inc. is looking for a qualified individual to assist our Food Service Director. We need a quality individual who can multi-task and problem solve quickly in order to prepare and assemble client meals in a fast paced environment.Meals On Wheels in Sheboygan grows much of its own food as well as utilizes large amount of locally donated produce Because of this, an ideal candidate will be creative and flexible when planning and preparing food. Scheduled hours are 7:30-10:30 a.m. Monday-Friday and select evenings/weekends as needed.


  • Assist in preparing and assembling client meals; primarily cold salads and sandwiches.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen.
  • Perform cleaning duties using established sanitation procedures in the kitchen.
  • Follow established time and temperature procedures.
  • Show respect for all clients, volunteers, staff and donors.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of clients, donors, and volunteers.

Physical Demands: This position may require the person to be able to sit and/or stand for 6+ hours at a time, walk, bend, drive and lift/carry up to 40 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • ServSafe Certification (or ability to attain one).
  • Ability to read, convert and execute recipes.
  • Previous food service experience, preferably catering or banquets experience.
  • Culinary degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets preferred.
