CIMCO Refrigeration division Toromont Industries Ltd. has a full time position available for a Human Resources Managerwith a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Human Resources Management capacity. Do you possess a sense of urgency? Can you adapt to changing priorities? The successful candidate will join our Corporate Services team in our Toronto Head Office.

Role Specifics
The successful applicant will be the senior in-house human resources professional reporting to Director Finance and Administration. As the senior in-house human resources professional you will be the team lead in the development and implementation of human resource initiatives. The role will include the following tasks;

  • Provide a full range of HR Generalist support for all regions across Canada and the U.S.
  • Partner with Regional Leadership to interpret, develop and implement HR practices, programs, policies and procedures
  • Establish and manage the full cycle recruitment processes for effective talent acquisition and retention of qualified candidates/employees
  • Lead and manage compensation, incentives, performance management, talent development and succession planning across the organization
  • Lead and manage the job evaluation process and provide recommendations on position grades and salaries
  • Provide HR direction and coaching to managers and employees including, but not limited to, labour relations issues, attendance/performance management, disability claims, termination procedures, grievances/mediation, conflict management, dispute resolution
  • Investigate on employee concerns and follow up with recommendations on appropriate resolutions
  • Coordinate early and safe return to work programs and disability management
  • Conduct employment surveys and research current HR marketplace to stay align with Company strategies
  • Lead and recommend improvements to streamline HR programs and policies as required
  • Maintain required reporting and database management including HR specific metrics
  • Deliver training related to leadership, performance management, safety and additional policies and procedures
  • Foster a highly collaborative environment conducive to effective communication, teamwork and diversity across the organization

Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
The following qualifications, experience and skills are required:

  • Post Secondary Degree or Diploma, coupled with a Human Resources Management Certificate (CHRP Designation or in progress would be an asset)
  • Minimum of 5 years combined experience in a Human Resources/Management capacity
  • Strategic with a solid knowledge of relevant Human Resources Legislation (U.S. Law and Union Policies would be an asset)
  • Safety conscious with general knowledge of HR functions including, but not limited to, recruitment, compensation packages, employee/labour relations, health and safety, benefits, training and development, disability management
  • Customer centric with high attention to detail, a mindset for continuous improvement, planning and team development
  • Highly effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills to manage internal and external customers at all levels
  • Proven leadership, problem solving, mediation and conflict resolution with a sense of urgency
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, innovative, influential and current on HR related matters and marketplace
  • Solid business and financial acumen, organized and flexible in a demanding, deadline driven environment with constantly changing priorities
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), HRIS, ATS, SAP
  • Willing and able to travel as required to support the business needs and company objectives
  • Valid Driver's Licence and clean Driver's Abstract
