Dutchtown High School Air Force JROTC Department

Dear Parents: 28 Jan 2015

Your child has expressed an interest in assisting with the Dutchtown High School annual Air Force JROTC invitational drill meet here on Saturday, 7 Feb, 7:30am to 4:30pm. Volunteers will serve as either host to a participating unit, runners for the score keepers, or concession stand workers. All volunteers will assist with set-up and reset/clean-up tasks. Volunteers should be prepared to actually work, as this drill meet is a very professional and serious event; it is not a social gathering.

Cadet volunteers must wear the 2015 black JROTC unit polo shirt, long blue, blue jeans and tennis shoes. The polo shirt must be tucked and students must follow JROTC uniform grooming standards (hair, jewelry, etc.).

To be eligible, students must be responsible, have impeccable behavior & discipline, and must have demonstrated the capability to stay on task. Participating students will receive breakfast, lunch, extra credit, an activity ribbon, plus an enlisted rank promotion to one level above the enlisted rank they currently hold. Please note: in order to earn these incentives, students must work the entire 7:30am to 4:30 pm shift and fulfill the expectations of the assigned duty. PLEASE NOTE: This event is NOT a community or school service event. It is a corps activity.

Please complete the permission form below and have your child return the form to me by 4pm on Wednesday, 4 Feb. We will select the 30 most eligible students of those who volunteer. We will announce the selectees on Thursday, 5 Feb.

NOTE: we also need parent volunteers for the concession stand & hospitality room. Please initial below if you can help.
