Information for this year.

--To enter any rodeo, cutting, reined cow horse or shooting event, the member will need to email me on or before the due date on the schedule and no later telling me what rodeo, cutting, reined cow hors, or shooting event and which events they want to enter. They will get a confirmation email back listing the events they entered. They will then pay for them with a check, cash or money order when they get to the rodeo. If the member wants stalls or camping, they will need to find the contact information on the activity form to reserve those.

--The member will also need to download the eligibility form except the home school students, to have it signed by their Principal or school official to be emailed or mailed to me no later than two weeks before the rodeo they are entering. If the member is deemed ineligible to compete at that rodeo, I will notify them 1 week prior to that rodeo.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE RODEOS ARE NOW AVERAGE RODEOS. You will earn points on Saturday, Sunday and for the average. The maximum points you will be carrying in to state per event will be 120.

At our fall directors meeting held on August 5th, the student officers presented a plan to be able to offer more prizes at state finals. To do this, they are going to be offering a Cushman side by side for raffle. All proceeds will go to the prizes. All members will be required to sell 20 tickets at $10 per ticket. They can sell more and there will be a prize for the most tickets sold.

The directors also voted that you can carry points into state in the shooting events. There are four rodeos that we know of right now that are going to hold shooting events – White Pine, Pahrump, Douglas-Carson and Lincoln. To enter state, you must attend three of the four events. Points will not count towards the all around.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding membership or anything pertaining to the HS or JHS rodeo associations of Nevada, please feel free to call me at 775-217-2810 or email me at .

I look forward to seeing all of you soon.
